About
The Call in Izard, Fulton & Sharp Counties
The Call in Izard, Fulton & Sharp Counties was started in a joint initiative by the Foster Parent Association of Izard, Fulton and Sharp Counties, The CALL in Arkansas, and DHS/DCFS in the three counties, Area 8 and Little Rock. Our organizing summit took place in July of 2009 and we began speaking in churches that month.
We recruit, train and support foster and adoptive families from churches in our community. The CALL helps to streamline the paperwork process, does the PRIDE training, and acts as a communication link with DHS/DCFS. We trained our first families in September of 2009, and look to have a training every six months, or more often if needed. We have a growing number of qualified back-up caregivers when respite help is needed, and are developing a CALL Closet to help with needs that foster parents my have from time to time.
We ask for your support through prayers, volunteering and donations, as you feel called. Check the Contact tab for that information. Any donations should be made to the Foster Parent Association of Izard, Fulton and Sharp Counties, with a notation for the CALL. It is a 501 C3 Nonprofit organization that works closely with us, and will forward donations to us until we get that designation for ourselves.
